I am a writing room assistant and writer with eight years of experience in production and comedy writing. I’ve served as the personal assistant to writers, directors, and even a Member of Parliament. My writing has been cited in The Washington Post, Canadaland Commons, and Buzzfeed. With the knowledge and fact-checking skills of a former newsroom member and political junkie, I’m perfect for scripted comedies or dramas that need to get the details right, and factual shows that need a creative or comedic edge. 2013-Present
Writer @ The Beaverton (www.thebeaverton.com)
For the past seven years I have been a writer for The Beaverton, helping it grow into Canada's most popular online satirical outlet with over a million unique hits a month. My work has been cited in The Washington Post, Canadaland Commons, and Buzzfeed (among others). I was a contributing writer and performer for live sketch shows, and The Beaverton's book satirising Canadian history, published by Penguin Canada. My work has on numerous occasions gone viral, with articles featured at the top of Reddit's front page, and shared online by major columnists and other figures.

2018
Writing Room Assistant @ Sphere Media
Working as the writing room assistant for a half hour scripted comedy in development, I assisted the writers' room by taking notes, drafting pitch documents, producing character outlines, and pitching story ideas. I also served as the liaison between the supervising production executive and the writers.

I have worked on numerous productions in a variety of formats and genres. I have at one time or another been a set PA helping ADs / runner, a location marshall, office runner, driver, and most notably as the personal assistant to producers and a director. Blog Manager @ American Marketing Association: Toronto
Volunteering for AMA - Toronto, I sourced contributors and photos for the organisation's blog, in addition to producing articles myself. I interviewed entrepreneurs, business leaders, and academics, as well as attending events. I published using WordPress.
2016
Constituency Assistant for John McKay, M.P. (Scarborough-Guildwood)
Working in the constituency office for MP John McKay, I wrote and managed the member's social media, website, and publications. I wrote extensive correspondence, occasionally giving remarks on the Member's behalf. This was all in addition to a high volume of casework, helping constituents and petitioners with issues pertaining to the federal government.
2015
Digital Content Editor @ CTV News (ctvnews.ca)
As a digital content editor for Canada's most watched national newsroom I produced news packages and playlists for their website. This entailed editing video, images, and broadcasts, in addition to writing headlines, captions, and copy. When not editing material for affiliates around the country, I helped manage the newsroom's social media feeds. This was a fast-paced job requiring irregular hours and where I had to meet rigorous journalistic and editorial standards.

Volunteer @ TVCOGECO
As a volunteer with a community television station, I helped out on a live evening news program called Inside Halton. I helped, depending on the day, with camera, control room, graphics, and even a bit of directing.

Humber College
Earned a postgraduate certificate in TV Writing and Producing. Produced and wrote short films and sketches. Recorded audio for shorts. Also produced short comedies and documentaries.

Earned a BA in Political Science and International Relations with a minor in History. Took part in numerous societies, volunteered for political campaigns, interned on Parliament Hill for Garth Turner, P.C., M.P.
